Be Local is a new approach to travel for those who are seeking a deeper understanding and connection to the places you explore. We build our experiences with local hosts who will help you uncover hidden gems and get much more out of your visit than just ticking the traditional boxes. In Costa Rica, one of the happiest countries on earth, we are excited to help you discover local cultures and foods, mind-blowing outdoor adventures, and landscapes that continue to inspire.
Our itineraries combine the benefits of slow travel with the knowledge of our local hosts, making sure that you get a great value while also having the right time to enjoy your time in Costa Rica. We have a strategy in place for having a positive impact on our community.
- We make a donation on your behalf to the Travel Foundation so their research, training and sustainable tourism projects continue
- We only work with small groups to minimize social disruptions (max. 10 people)
- We encourage discovering different parts of our destinations, at different times of the day, to avoid overcrowding and distribute income across neighborhoods
- We only work with local suppliers and always try to work with small business first
- We embrace the local culture and promote integration
